CCH Today!
In the Beginning:
Paul had been an avid carp angler in the U.K. for years, fishing many of the top circuit waters. He wanted to broaden his carp fishing history and where many fellow anglers opted for Europe Paul ventured over to Canada in 1988. It was during that first visit to the Ontario area that Paul quickly came to realize how prolific and untapped the carp fishing was here. In fact he had never experienced anything like it, hard fighting commons and lots of them! He returned numerous times over the next decade, gaining knowledge with each visit. Paul soon came to realize that it was the St. Lawrence River that he wanted to concentrate on and after quite a few trips fishing various locations along the entire length of the river (over 700 miles), he would target a 40 mile stretch of majestic river that had by far produced the best catches. There had been no prior history of anglers carp fishing the vast St. Lawrence River and Paul's pioneering of this specific stretch of river set the wheels in motion for the St. Lawrence River becoming one if not the best carp fishing destination in the world.
The Growing Years:
In 1998 Paul had amassed enough knowledge of the carp's feeding patterns and area's to confidently and officially open Canadian Carpin Holidays for business! Starting out relatively small and using local accommodation for his clients Paul started his guiding career on the river. By 1999 the interest from British anglers wanting to fish with Paul on the St. Lawrence River grew and it was time to expand. Canadian Carpin Holiday's next venue was a spacious house overlooking the river. From this venue we continued to grow and become known for our quality of service to anglers which included sparking the interest of well known U.K. carp anglers.
Where we're are now:
In 2005 the time had once again come for Canadian Carpin Holiday's to expand and seek out the perfect property for our growing venue. After much research during that year we found The River Island Manor, an expansive waterfront property located on it's very own peninsula on the St. Lawrence River. Upon acquiring the property we immediately commenced the renovations to tailor the Manor to suit our anglers every need. In the spring of 2006 we opened for our first season and have provided top quality all-inclusive holiday's to our guests since. With private swims and our own boat launch each guest experiences their holiday to it's full potential We encourage you to take a look around this website to see why our guests rate us as the top carp holiday destination in Canada. Now we are in 2012 and still going strong.
