Peter Skipworth a return guest, as usual had everyone in stitches and had carp to 30lb 8oz his fishing mate, a first time guest, Dean Kelley also banked plenty of hard fighting commons with his best at 27lbs, their total of 70 carp for the week. Here are some of newcomer Dean’s comments “A most enjoyable fishing experience, food and accommodation were second to none, fishing locations are stunning…overall an excellent carp fishing package.” Dave Snell and Tony Stanley also newcomers had a rewarding fishing holiday with Dave’s P.B. of 31.4 lbs and Tony’s accompanied numerous other carp banked by the two mates.

The weather is a bit cold this week, So the river is the same! But all the boys still have carp in the high 20s to 30s. Stuart Kennell landed 21 carp with 13-20s to 25lb, Archie landed 31 carp to 28lb+. Stew a return guest had 25 carp 18-D and 7-20s to 26lb fishing with Tony Thompson landed 25 carp to 28lb with 14-20s Tony said" fishing various swims wading into the unknown, Food excellent Thanks to Paul & Lisa for your efforts this week, See you next year!!, Paul & Kath a return guests have a good time with 29 carp 9-20s (Great week we will both be back) THE WEATHER IS WARMING UP NEXT WEEK SO STAY TURNED!!
Here we go, This week we see some bigger carp out!!! Glen Smith and Steve Martindale teamed up for a cracking week with Glen smashing he's PB of 34lb with a 39lb common and Steve Smashed he's PB with a 25lb+ they both landed 60 carp with 21-20s 1-30, Dennis Peckham (007) which lives in Canada but is from London England he landed he's PB of 32lb plus some 20s, he teamed up with Archie Furneaux which is on he's second week from Scotland and they landed 52 carp to 32lb. Archie said thankyou Paul for show me how to cast upto 120 YDS !! Stuart had a lazily week fishing at the Manor House with some 20s and he's PB of 25lb+
Peter on he's 6th trip out with CCH & Colwyn's 6th trip out' both tick over with 72 carp landing 26-20s to 34lb+ Peter landed a 22lb Mirror ' they both said' we have both been out over 6 times which tell you how good it is.... Peter has book again to come out in Oct this year for some great Carpin'!!
This week we have 8 top boys which has been coming out for 6 years now and two news ones making it 10 for the week!, 4 boys Andy Wornham, Mike Rexworthy, Steve Norgrove, Danny Dance all had a good first day with 32 carp to 31lb 12oz. Mark Jermey & Jim Rogers had a good day in the deep water (42ft) and landed 17 carp 9-20S with a 31lb and a 35lb PB. Geoff, Danny, Neil, James jumped on a new swim with Guide Paul Hunt and had a good 6 hours of Carpin' hooking 34 carp with smallest 18lb with 10-20s and a 30lb & 30lb 8oz backing it up with a 29lb 8oz. 4 of the boys had a very good day with 55 takes landing 43 carp with 18-20s to 28lb+ all in 10 hours of top carpin'. Mark smashed he's PB again with a 36lb+ & 32lb with some 20s too. They hooked 466 carp in a week and landed............ All the boys when on to land 377 carp with over 10-30s in one week!!! 8 anglers landed over 165 carp in one day in two CCH swims.
May is all most over, BUT look out for some top Carping at the River Island Manor in Junes report!!
JUNE 2009: Is banging off this year!!!!!!! all the carp are up in Wight !JUNE HAS KICK OFF WITH A BANG!!! this year........We are baiting all the Manor swims in the deep water now with kg's and kg's of bait to bring on the big boy'ssssss. All the boys are on there second week with us and David Jarvis has started he's first week with us in June, The weather is warming up now with the water temps at 53.3 the carp are starting to jump and feed like crazy!!. Neil smashed he's PB in June on the first day with a 37lb+ and landed 19 carp total, Andy Wornham, Steve Norgrove, Peter Haswell, Mike Rexworthy landed 25 carp with 2-29lb+ on the bank at the same time with 1-31lb & 20-20s!! David fished the manor swim the first time this year for 5 hours and landed 9 carp to 26lb 8oz from the deep water.
You can't stop the boys from catching this week!!!...4 when in to the swim that we have been baiting up for two week now and could not sit down for long when they landed 51 carp with 2-30s and 27-20s.....The boys said" THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO CARP FISH IN THE WORLD!" what a days fishing! the boys have been out there for 6 years now with us at CCH and have booked for next year!. Mark & Jim fished the plat/3 in the deep water by the Manor house and had a good day with 20 carp 8-20s Mark Jermey said" It was so interesting to see the carp in the clear water coming up to the net from 40 feet plus and no over angler in sight" I will never fish France again!!" both of them Mark and Jim has booked up for next year! come on the Canadian St. Lawrence Carp! David Jarvis fished the plat/1 and landed 28 carp to 32lb+ and 10-20s in a unbaited swim. Take a look at this............ The carp are going nutssssssssssss all the boys this week had on the last two days of there holiday landed 340 carp 18-30s in 17 hours!!!!!! Talley for the two weeks 1,024 carp, YES that's right!! 1,024 carp with 26-30s
We have all couples with us for two weeks now, So it will be a split weeks carp fishing and days out! The two Johns had a good day with 18 carp to 31lb 8oz and two of the couples Steven & Jane Hawley & Terry & Tracy fished the Manor swim and landed 16 carp to 31lb+. Bernard fished the Manor swim today and landed he's PB of 31lb common plus John had he's PB 30lb 4oz from the manor swim also. This week we have 11 people but the carp are spawning now so the fishing has slowed down a bit! but Mark Baker still landed on he's first day a 30lb+ PB. There are some mid-20 coming out too. We have 3 couples here this week so they are going out sight seeing while the carp are spawning. The carp are starting to feed now with Mark Baker fishing the Manor swim a landing 25 carp to 30lb 8oz and a 32lb 8oz, he landed 975lb of carp!!!.
Rob and dad Baron ON THERE 3 TRIP OUT WITH US landing 19 carp to 29lb+ in 8 hours! and then went on to land 59 carp with 31-20s to 29lb+ Rob said" Fishing harder than normal but steady, enjoyable visited as always made to feel very welcome by Lisa & Paul" Top Holiday!, Steven & Jane Hawley have had a good time with 73 carp to 31lb 8oz fishing half days. Numpty Dumpty (Bernard Greenwood from Spain) fishing No. 3 Swim ended up with 17 carp to 26lb in one day and he's wife landed a 30lb 4oz with 54 carp total. Bernard Greenwood said" Fist time experience fishing this way on the whole enjoyable Excellent hosts & hostess & excellent food, "I will be BACK"
New week coming up!!!! Mark Ward on he's first day fished a new swim (dead tree) and landed 23 carp and lost 6 with 11-20s and a 30lb 8oz and a 25lb Mirror, then he went on to land 36 carp 23-20s and a 30lb 8oz in ten hours in a new swim!!!! he ended up with 3-30s 57-20s & 117 carp for the week!!. 20 year old Tom Pugh he's PB was 22lb and new comer to CCH he went on to land 18 carp 13-20s and a 31lb 8oz in 8 hours!!! then smashed he's PB with a 32lb 8oz Tom ended up with 78 carp for the week!!.,
Carp Fishing Going Nutsssssss in June! The golf point swim is ticking over with some good 20ss having up to 23 carp in one day!, plus platform 1&2 has had 9-30s this week!! Reg Smith 61 and Brian 72 years old landed 35 carp to 32lb from Platform 1 in 45 ft of water at 15 yards in 11 hours!! they landed over 100 carp for there week Lindsay & Peter have been coming out for years now, they landed 28 carp with two-30s to 32lb in one day!, so there was over 149 carp landed by 8 anglers is ten hours all from the private Manor Swims.
Talley for the week 8 anglers landed....451 carp with 9-30s & 202-20s & 240 10 to 20lb and lost 96 carp!!!
JULY 1st 2009: HAPPY CANADA DAY to you all!!!We have 5 couples this week, So the girls are going on days out with Lisa, and the 5 boys are been fishing some days, The water temps are down for this time of year (63 DG) the temp this time last year was 69 DG so the carp are feeding slower then normal! So this week with 5 anglers fishing only 4 days they landed 148 carp with Del-Boy landing he's PB of 34lb 8oz with in one day landing 22 carp. Day one! This week we have 10 anglers all carping" So here we go with Andy Smith and two mates fishing No: 2 swim and hooked 27 carp to 29lb 8oz, Simon Prior and Mike had a good day with 22 carp to 26lb+ from No:3 swim. The boys Jon Kerr and Mark fished the Manor swim and landed 12 carp to 25lb+ Two boys and Mike Mcevoy fished the golf point swim and landed 12 carp to 26lb all on the first day!
Day two, and the end of the week! The boys landed in 10 hours 86 carp from 4 different swim over 5 miles!! it just show you how many carp that are in the Manor swims!! Andy Smith and two mates fished the high bank swim and had 37 carp with two 29lb+ Simon smashed he's PB of 18lb with loads of big 20s but now he smash it again with a 31lb 8oz. THEY ALL LANDED OVER 411 CARP TO 31LB+ in one week
Here is some NUTS carpin!!! We started of a new week with the same boys last week and three newcomers had a rewarding fishing holiday, Paul Hyams, Andy Kandall and mate Steve!. Here we go with Mike Mcevoy Gary, Pikey fished the high bank swim and had 58 takes landing over 49 carp all in 10 hours!!!! Pikey went on to land a 30lb 4oz and Gary also landed a 30lb+ and 26 carp from the Manor garden swim the next day!.
Paul Hyams landed 26 carp to 26lb+ on he's first day Paul said" Great fishing, fantastic food, nice house and good company" plus landed 111 carp in one week! Top fishing, Andy Kandall and mate Steve! landed 24 carp in one day, they both said" well looked after and great CARPIN" Andy Smith and two mates landed 51 carp to 26lb+ on the first day of the week! they went on to have 32 carp, hooking 43 carp to 28lb+ the next day in the same swim! Last week of July coming up! The boys this week are a group of 10 anglers. The first day went well with 85 carp on the bank to 34lb 14oz, the week slow down a bit but they all still landed over 486 carp to 34lb+
AUG 2009:This month the weather is in the high 20s with the water temps at 72 DG so the fish are feeding in the mornings and late in the day! but Lloyd and Mum Pat still had a good day with Lloyd smashing he's PB by landing a 33lb+ and mum Pat landing a NEW PB of a 27lb 2oz mirror on week two!, Jamie and two mates landed 26 carp all in one day! They went on to land over 149 carp in one week.
Lee went on to smash he's PB with a 30lb+ and landing 10 carp to 22lb+ Lee and nick fished the rock swim the next day and landed 17 carp to 25lb they landed 89 carp on there week, also nick had a PB of 24lb +. Lloyd mum landed a new PB of 26lb+ from Plat: 2,
New week with new boys, The boys from Holland dad Bert and son Guido are on day three hooking 87 carp and landing over 69 carp with loads of 20s to 27lb+ on day 4 Bert lands a 31lb out of 28 carp!! they went on to landed 2,983lb of carp in two weeks. Andy Johnson from the UK on leave has had 32 carp to 28lb+ on day two from Plat:1 he went on to land over 80 carp on he's stay with us, the last two weeks has been very HOT in the 90s and the water temps are 75 DGS.
We have 5 people this week with us, so we will see how they get on with the heat!!! The weather is a bit cooler with clouds! the fishing in ticking over with carp to 31lb 13oz with some 20s to 26lb+ Andy Hosegood and mate Dave are getting into the bigger ones with Dave landing over 15 carp in No:3 swim with 24lb Mirror and a St. Lawrence PB of 37lb+ common he also landed a 31lb+ and 16 over's from No:1 swim and lost a 30lb+ Mirror at the net.. Andy Godfrey and mate had a good day on No:2 swim with 20s and a 30lb+
Barry Clark is fishing on he's tod this week" he's ticking over with 60 carp with the biggest of 31lb+ with some nice 20s to 29lb+. Peter one of 5 mates on this week. He went on to land loads of carp from the high bank swim and landed a PB of 31lb+
SEPT 2009:Well Sept started with a bang!! for Peter landing he's PB of a very nice 35lb+ common from swim Plat: 2. Dave McIntyre on he's last day of a two week holiday with us landed 16 carp to mid-20s he went on to land over 114 carp!! with 36-20s and a 31lb the biggest 37lb.
Steve Barwick and 5 mates started very well today with over 48 carp to 31lb+ Steve Barwick when on to land a 31lb 9oz from Plat 1 swim and mate Pete allso landed a 30lb 2oz PB. Fel and the gang (4 of then) are having a good week with loads of 20s and the biggest of 32lb+
We have 11 people this week but the weather has been sun sun sun not good for carp fishing, but they all had a good week with loads of carp to 28lb+ Lou and bro Chris landed 14-20s to 28lb+ all in one day!!!. Dave and son Cliff had a good day with 17 carp 10-20s and a PB for son Cliff 31lb 8oz. The boys on No 3 swim landed 4-20s to 28lb 8oz and a new PB of 30lb 6oz, David Foster landed a 30lb+ of the rock today, and Clive and Bob had a good day with 19 carp to 27lb+ from Plat 2 plus a 27lb 4oz Mirror.
The boys this week have all been here loads of times! so Shawn and bob started of in Plat 2 swim and landed loads of carp to big 20s. Shawn's son landed over 15 carp from Plat 3 swim, with a PB of 28lb 8oz, Bill and Alan fished No: 1 swim and landed carp to over 28lb+, Alan landed a PB of 32lb from Plat 2 swim the next day. Mike and son Matt fished the big name swim (The Rock) and played carp to big 20s with both rods playing carp at the same time!. All in 10 hours on the fist day!!!. All the same boys landed on day two was over 75 carp to 29lb+ with most of them 20s. Mark Van Rhee from Holland is on he's fist trip with us teamed up with Dennis from UK but lives in Canada fished Plate 1 swim and Mark landed No: 1 carp of 31lb 8oz then they went on to land loads of 20s too. Dennis also landed a 30lb 4oz from the rock swim on day three with some top 20s!.
Mark Van Rhee from Holland fished one night in No:3 swim and bag up with 33lb & 30lb 8oz 29lb 8oz & 27lb 2-26lb 4-23lb and 3-18lb Mark said" carp where jumping all over the place in dark hours" what a top carp holiday!!! it is my best night fishing for carp I've ever had! Bob & Shawn had a good week with over 61 carp to 29lb+, Mike & Matt landed over 50 carp to 29lb in one week.
New week coming up with David Chesterman, Andy Hazeldine, Terry Thomson and son, Mike & Jo, and the top boys Rob & Gary, Peter started with a 31lb on the fist day with over 40 carp came out !.Mike & Jo fished the light house swim and the fishing went NUTSSS they had 26 carp with over 18-20s.
OCT 2009: is fishing very good!!!!!New month and a new week coming up with David Chesterman on week two, Andy Hazeldine, Terry Thomson and son, Mike & Jo, and the top boys Rob & Gary, Peter started with a 31lb on the fist day with over 40 carp came out !.Mike & Jo fished the light house swim and the fishing went NUTSSS they had 26 carp with over 18-20s. Terry & son Harry age 14 had a good day with Harry smashing he's PB of 18lb from the UK with three 20s to 23lb+ on day one, Harry said the best day fishing I had!. Mike & Jo fished the rock swim and landed over 15 carp 6-25lb+ and a 31lb 10 oz all in 8 hours. They fished the rock swim again and landed 22 carp with 14-20s to 28lb they both went on to land 100 carp in one week Jo said' We fished last year at the same time of year and landed over 106 carp but this year it's fishing better and better' . Rob and bro Ray had a slow start in no: 1 swim but Ray went on to landed a PB of 32lb and a 29lb Rob had a good week with over 66 carp and a fully scald mirror toboot. Andy and David had a slow start to the week but Andy went on to land carp to 31lb+ and a fully scald mirror of 27lb+ all so 10 carp with 8-20s.
Last week of the season!!!! Peter & Julie had a good start with over 20 takes from Plat 3 with over 7-20s and landed a 30lb 8oz common...........Trevor & Brian fished Plat 2 and landed 12 carp to 30lb 4oz with 3 big 20s. They went on to fish the ROCK swim and land a 31lb then fished Plat 1 and landed a 30lb 4oz with some good 20s. Lee & Ian had a smashing time drinks and laughing and some good carp to boot. |
