Steve Briggs with Canadian Carpin'

On the second week of October we were very pleased to have  Steve Briggs and his lovely partner Joan with us.Check out the "carp videos " page for our new video featuring Steve Briggs incredible week fishing with Canadian Carpin. Also be sure check out our photos page for Steve's catches.

Steve Briggs experienced a remarkable week here landing impeccable St. Lawrence carp to 39lbs ! Steve, more than once remarked on the sheer power of the carp here, that once they find your bait they shoot off providing screaming takes followed by unmatched hard fights all the way to the bank! Steve banked in one week with us 112 carp, day fishing only, which included fifty-four carp in the 20lb to 30lb bracket, fifteen carp in the 30lb to 40lb bracket with four commons over 35lbs (36lb-36.6lb-38lb & his St. Lawrence P.B. a stunning 39lb.) Steve not only achieved his St. Lawrence P.B. on this trip with Canadian Carpin, but also landed the most carp and the most 30's he has ever had in a one week session!

Also out with us on the same week were two anglers who we think are quite possibly the funniest people we have ever met, Gary & Rob (the wig man) or Moose & Elk as Joan had endearingly called them, not only did they keep everyone in stitches each evening but they also had a cracking week fishing wise with loads of 20lbs+, and four 30's (35lb- 30lb- 31lb-32lb.) John Houghton & son out with us for their first time banked their P.B.'s  with a 30lb and a 35lb.

Last week started slow with carp to 27lb' BUT the weather turned with strong winds from the SW and the fishing stared to bang!! with Adam Goldwater landed he's PB of 30lb 4oz and Chris Paul with he's PB of 30lb 8oz. Tubzy & Beefy with 5 mates had a good time with loads of 20s and some 30s from 32lb+ to 38lb 4oz.

BOOK NOW!!          See you all in 2008!!

On their second morning out on the river Nick Fisher started off by banking a lovely 26lb common followed up by reeling in a hard fighting carp that unfortunately to Nicks dismay was lost at the net, the big common was estimated in the 40 lb bracket.!!! Excited & determined Nick recast on the baited area in 40 feet of fast flowing water and was soon rewarded with another screaming take and after a hard battle landed a stunning 41lb common.

Mr. Blakeman smashed here's PB with a 33lb 8oz!!, Dave Stizaker, Dave Synes, plus Stephen Ryan and 3 mates started very slow this week BUT two days in the carp went mad with loads of 20s to 29lb and a 31lb+ & 32lb+ 33lb+ .  New week and new fish  Shawn & Bob Ramsay had a good start of the week with 15 carp in a day 11-20s to 29lb+ plus 32lb 8oz & 31lb+, James Raton is having a good time with 31lb & 37lb 8oz & loads of 20s too!!  Mike Cuff landed a 31lb+ and 10-20s (two 28lb+)  peter landed a 31lb+ and 6-20s to 26+

July: Has kicked off very well with loads of 20s and several 30s from the Manor Swims. Canadian Carpin swims are definitely supplying the goods with sessions of non stop action such as 34 takes in an 8 hour day which was thoroughly enjoyed by Graham & Bitsy, then another day saw Archie & Graham land 24 carp to 30lb+ in one session from the Manor swim. Robert Bedingfield and dad Barron had a smashing start to the week with 69 carp in two days (day fishing only)! Graham fishing on his own had 1,638lbs of carp... day fishing only. Archie, who was accompanied by his wife Sandra on certain days fishing, had (1,419lbs) 122 carp. All above totals were achieved with day fishing only, leaving the evenings free for a nice meal, some drinks and a few games of pool!

June: The WEATHER IS HOT !!! In the first week of June we had eight carp anglers from Holland (three ladies) fishing the Manor and area swims. They had a great week and banked 14-30s to 38lb plus, for a total of 2,948lb of carp!!

WEEK 2 in June went NUTS!   NUTS!!   NUTS!!!

Andy, Peter, Kelvin, fish the Manor Swim and in 5 hours landed 40 carp 24-20s and 3-30s+ All the other boys had 88 carp in one day all from the other Manor Swims! Three days at the Manor Swim they banked 191 carp to 31lb with 102-20s!!!

The 3 & 4 week went well with Sven & Dad Ger from Holland having a good week with 68 carp to 36lb+ with loads of 20s too! And Brian Hardy also had a great weeks catch with some hectic days banking carp to BIG 20s!  Peter  "Long Shanks" & Lindsay "Short Arse" kept us all laughing during their week stay, their most hectic day saw them land 36 carp in the Manor Swims during an 8 hour session!

May: Another fine start to our season! As usual during the month of May, the St. Lawrence River rewarded many of our very keen anglers with some impressive catches. May at CCH’s saw a near even split of repeat and new guests here, all eager to experience the great battles the carp residing in this river offer to those who fish them. Here are just some examples of May’s rewards:

“The Boyz” Craig, Kevin, Gary, Ray, Terry, Alan, Chris & Bob landing numerous carp during their week up to 35lb+ with loads of 20s and a 32lb+ Mirror!! And one day spent at our Commons Lakes offered the anglers carp to 30lb+. Another week of guests, which included Budx3, and newcomers to the river Nigel x 3, Harding x 3 and Dave Regan having an accomplished week full of carp to 36lb+, 25lb Mirror plus Alan Knellerx3 all had a good week with carp to 38.8oz . They were all very chuffed to experience some hectic fishing periods during their week… that only the St. Lawrence can provide!! The following week saw Keith & John, also newcomers, have a very memorable first day with 46 takes in one day!! Rocky & Bob also experienced some of the same with 42 takes in one day, banking 36 carp with numerous 20’s & 30’s and Rocky was grinning like a Cheshire cat with his 40lb+! And Kevin & William Price had no complaints with 34 takes all in one day giving them carp to 36lb.

We would like to mention some day catches from all our guests but that would make for quite a list by the end of our season. Suffice to say that our guests repeated the above mentioned catches on many days throughout May.

May was not without a few patchy periods however, which on average lasted a day or two and was entirely due to weather conditions, but all in all May fished quite favorably for our guests with carp to 40lb+ loads of 30s & 20ssss,
